The Lightning Ridge from Akubra�s Heritage Collection is a classic hat in the best Australian tradition, a hat you can wear in the city or out in the field. The pre-creased crown is 4-1/2 inches high at the sides, the 3 inch raw-edge brim is tilted down in front and back. The neat leather band sports an opal (8 mm. oval triplet) on the side, as might suit the successful opal miner. Premium quality pure fur felt, fully lined. Reeded roan leather sweatband. UPF rating 50+. Made in Australia.

"Lightning Ridge" is a "class act" hat. I ware it in all kinds of weather conditions. Mostly worn to protect my balding pate from the sun. David Morgan is also a "class act" retailer.

This is my third Akubra hat. I have never been disappointed with the quality and durability. I still have my original Banjo Patterson purchased in 2001. The Lightning Ridge hat is comfortable and looks very stylish. I recommend it for outdoor use, it looks at home in the Great Smokey Mountains!I compliment David Morgan for prompt service, I'll stick with them for my next Akubra.

I've not had a hat that I would wear with almost anything but this one, I do. It appears casual when I wear casual and is stylish enough to wear with a sports coat and tie. All other hats I have are 7 1/8 and that is what I ordered (size 57) but it was QUITE large when I got it. I returned the 57, ordered the 56, and it fit well. Returns are easy. While some people think it is a cowboy hat, I like the styling and use it as one would a cool weather Panama hat. I've had a number of inquiries as to where I got it. Because I don't want everyone to have a hat like mine, I just tell them that I got it from an "on-line retail store". This is a good company with a good product and I would purchase from them again.

This is a highly functional hat of very good quality. I live in West Texas and hate straw hats. This hat works well winter and summer. It is excellent in quality and function. It came just a hair larger than what I need, but that is common with most of the hats I buy. I just put a small shim in the band it fits perfect.
