This is a perfect hat. As other user said, for Indiana Jones costume uses is perfect, better than "official" or "licensed" hats. I am very glad with my purchase, I recommend it sincerely.
I received a friendly and personal service, it was excellent. I was wrong on size, but I requestes a change and they sent me the correct size as I requested. Always in communication.

Comments about Akubra Adventurer Hat (Open Crown):
I found that if you go to You Tube and type in Adventurer with Indiana Jone's Bash: David Morgan presents Akubra, you will find the easiest way of bashing the hat. The people at David Morgan used a professional steaming machine. I simply used the steam from a tea pot and than followed the instructions from You Tube. It took me 5 minuets to bash the hat.

Comments about Akubra Adventurer Hat (Open Crown):
Okay. I have wearing fedoras ever since my grandfather left me his old grey fedora in his will. And, over the last 20 years I've owned every hat that was remotely reputed to be an "Indiana Jones" hat. It has cost me a couple of thousand dollars to do this, but everyone needs a hobby. There are actually four slightly different hats, one for each of the four Jones movies. The Akubra Adventurer is the closest replica to the original Raiders hat that exists. The original hat as used in Raiders of the Lost Ark is still obtainable, but cannot handle heavy rain, and like many British fur felt hats, tends to react badly to rain and deform or droop over time due to a lack of sufficient sizing. All of the hats that are marketed as "The Official Indiana Jones Hat" are simply wrong. Their crowns are too tapered, their brims are too narrow or too wide, and the materials used are...to say the least...inferior. The Akubra Adventurer is shipped to you ready to be worn after a simple bashing of the crown and a pinching to form the front dent. The fine folk at Akubra have even gone to the trouble of "slouching" the brim for you. If you like, you can go one step further: Put the hat on straight, and give it a slight twist to your right so that the middle of the bow is just a bit in front of your left ear. This will give the hat the exact shape of the hat as worn in the original movie: what we call "the streets of Cairo twist." Watch the original movie and the Streets of Cairo scene and you'll see what I mean.
Above all, the hat is insanely low priced. Only two of the hats I've bought that purported to be the one true "Indy" hat were $300.00 and $600.00 dollars respectively. Bottom line? The good people at David Morgan and Akubra are literally selling you the best hat that money can buy for less than half of what it is worth. And this hat will be around long after you're gone and your grandchildren are gone. I've got a thirty year old Bushman that has been through tropical storms, one flood, a direct hit by an eight foot long, 200 pound fir tree branch, and an impromptu stone avalanche in a geological trench I dug in Eastern Oregon. I've never done anything but brush it, and aside from a small sweat stain on the ribbon, it is just as comfortable and handsome as the day I bought it. When it comes to durability and longevity, Akubra is the last word in hats.
If you're an Indiana Jones fan, or just want a fine hat, stop looking...you've found it. Sure, you can easily buy a more expensive hat, and you can buy one with one of those cutsy IndianaJones metal thingies riveted onto the bow. The only difference is that they'll never look as perfect or BE as good as the Akubra Adventurer.
BUY IT. After you get over the guilt complex of taking advantage of David Morgan's clearly insane generosity, put it on. Walk out the door and start creating your own adventures. Mine's coming along with me to Central America and ultimately to my final home in Ecuador, where I intend to live out my days and be buried with it.
I can't promise you're going to stumble over the Mitchell-Hedges skull the next time you're weeding the garden or find the Lost Ark in that box of knick knacks in your attic. But I do promise that this hat will become your priced possession and that you'll never regret it.
Delivery is amazingly fast. Your hat will arrive completely protected with easy and helpful suggestions on how to shape and fit your hat perfectly packed right with the hat. And in the unlikely event that you ever need any help, the folks at David Morgan are friendly and expert
